PURPOSE: To realize a driver circuit for an LED or the like by having a differentiator for supplying a prescribed amount of electric charge by means of a turn-on/off current pulse to an LED responding to an input. CONSTITUTION: An LED driver 1 has a differentiator 3 supplying a turn-off current pulse I2 to the LED 4 responding to an input IN and the value of the capacitor 11 and the value of a resistor 9 almost determine the charge amount inside the turn-off current pulse to be sent to the LED 4. Then, the differentiator 2 generates a current pulse 11 for turning on the LED 4 and a differentiator 3 generates a current pulse I2 for turning off the LED 4 and a DC amplifier 5 supplies a steady current for the LED 4 and the currents from the differenciators 2, 3 and the amplifier 5 are added at a contact 6 so as to drive the LED 4. Accordingly, the charge amount to be supplied to the LED 4 during the turning-on/off are almost determined by a combination of the effects of the resistors 8, 9 and the capacitors 10, 11 so as to realize a high-speed driver for an LED communication system.
