PURPOSE: To obtain a low-alcoholic perfume composition without reducing the solubility of a perfume and usability as a perfume composition while reduc ing the amount of ethyl alcohol used.

CONSTITUTION: This low-alcoholic perfume composition contains ≥10wt.% lower alcohol having ≥4C main chain, preferably 3-methyl-3-methoxybutanol, ≤75wt.% ethyl alcohol, ≤40wt.% water and ≤20wt.% perfume ingredient. A composition containing 10-75wt.% ethyl alcohol at (2:3) to (4:1) ratio of the lower alcohol:water is preferred as the composition. Since the water and lower alcohol are contained in the recipe, the composition is good in feeling of use when applied to the skin and has humectant actions without any practical problems in quick-drying properties and raw material smell.
