Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a pair of binoculars whose functional action is automatically started at an early stage when the pair of binoculars is used.
CONSTITUTION: This pair of binoculars is provided with a detecting means where a recessed part 10 provided between right and left optical systems on an ocular side and a light emitting part 8 and a light receiving part 9 are provided so that light emitted from the light emitting part 8 passes through the recessed part 10 to enter the light receiving part 9, and which detects whether the pair of binoculars is used based on a fact that the light is shielded at the recessed part 10; and a functioning means(a focal point detecting means, a means for detecting interval between pupils, and a diopter adjusting means, etc.) which starts an action based on the detection signal of the detecting means.
