To provide a name matching method and a name matching system that manage, as common customer information, customer data redundant in a plurality of databases due to separate management in a plurality of offices or separate management for a plurality of business items, and an accounting method and an accounting system that can easily determine a refund or an appropriation to a customer by the use of a name-matched database.
For a plurality of individual tables 11A, 11B, etc. prepared for a plurality of items to save customer information respectively, name matching is performed in every table according to item-based name matching rules 13, name matching is next performed across the tables according to item-shared name matching rules 13, and all groups of customers name-matched and given common numbers are saved in a common table 14A together with the common numbers. Even if offices differ in details of management methods, or business items differ in collection items of customer information, name matching can be performed for customer management common to the offices or the business items.
