To provide a narrow woven fabric or narrow knitted fabric having high recovery and heat resistance, and providing a product having the functions of preventing slip-in and fraying.

The narrow woven or knitted fabric is obtained by using a polyurethane-urea elastic fiber containing 5-40 wt.% polyurethane compound, and having 150C and 180C of a compression deformation-starting temperature by thermomechanometry (TMA), and 30 sec of a time for breakage by heat at 180C under 50% elongation at least as a part thereof.
