To enable route search with a proximate point as a virtual destination or a junction point by registering a connecting point in a road on which route search can be performed as a proximate point to a registered location.

The number of a registered location is selected by an input part to the screen 32 of a list of registered locations to open an edit screen 33 of registered contents. By selecting a proximate-point registering button to the registered location edit screen 33, a peripheral map 34 to a corresponding registered location A is displayed. In the case that a narrow street 35 reaching the registered location A is a road which can not be searched for in the peripheral map 34, the input part is operated to move a cursor to a proximate point C in a searchable road and to register the point C as a proximate point to the registered location A. By this, the proximate point C is stored as a registered location to be a virtual object of search to the registered location A in a registered-location storing part on the side of a navigation system. As a result, in the time of searching for a recommended route with the registered location A as a destination or a junction point, route search is performed with the proximate point C as a virtual registered location.
