To provide a method of manufacturing an Nb3Sn superconducting wire, which can suppress degradation in characteristics due to excess or deficiency in Sn and to provide the Nb3Sn superconducting wire.
The method of manufacturing Nb3Sn includes: a material preparing step of preparing metal materials containing Nb, Sn, and Cu; a wiring material-forming step of forming the wiring material which contains Nb, Sn, and Cu, with a molar ratio of Sn represented as ax+b(1-x) (0.3≤a≤0.4, 0.02≤b≤0.1), when the molar ratio of Nb and that of Cu are respectively represented by x and (1-x) (0.25≤x≤0.8) with respect to the total of Nb and Cu mole numbers; and a thermal-processing step of performing the thermal process to the wiring material to constitute Nb3Sn from Nb and Sn.
