Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a metal air battery that can reduce voltage drop even when discharge is performed with large current, and implement increase of the discharge capacity, and a metal air battery to which teh electrode is applied.SOLUTION: An electrode 1 for a metal air battery has a negative electrode reaction member 10 applied to a metal air battery, and a negative electrode collector member 20. The negative electrode reaction member 10 has an active material containing unit 11, and an active portion 13 which is electrically coupled to the active material containing unit 11 and exists at at least a part of the negative electrode surface 10A located at an electrolytic solution storage portion side when applied to the metal air battery. The active material containing unit 11 contains a negative electrode active material, and the active portion 13 has lower oxidation-reduction potential than the active material containing unit 11.
