Abstract:
To provide a negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery for preventing decrease in capacity of the battery while enhancing cycle characteristics.
Resist 30 having a plurality of openings 28 is formed on copper foil 26 (a current collector). The resist 30 is insoluble in an electrolyte 20. A tin alloy layer 32 (an active material layer) is formed so as to come in contact with the copper foil 26 inside the opening 28 of the resist 30. The tin alloy layer 32 contains an active material for storing and releasing lithium ions.
