To detect and supply a lost trap in a management device even if a trap transmitted from a device to be managed is transmitted only to a specified management device in a network management system where a plurality of the management devices exist.
The managed device has a transmission trap history holding part by individual management device, which manages the trap transmitted at every management device, and it acquires a sequence number of the trap which is transmitted last time from the transmission trap history holding part by individual management device, creates a trap message including the acquired sequence number and a sequence number of a trap, which is to be transmitted this time, and transmits it to the management device. The management device is provided with a previous trap loss judging part comparing the sequence number of the trap, which is kept in a received trap sequence number holding part, and which is received last time, with the sequence number of the trap of the last time, which is included in the trap received from the managed device, and judging presence or absence of trap loss when it receives the trap from the managed device.
