Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make early relief of a host computer and improvement of a processing speed compatible with each other.
SOLUTION: A user of this network printer can select either a first transfer mode or a second transfer mode as a data transfer mode inside a printer. In the first transfer mode, it is possible to relieve a host computer 100 earlier, since image generation or the like is performed after printing data are stored in an HDD 10. In the second transfer mode, high speed printing can be performed, since the HDD 10 is conveniently utilized in accordance with data processing state. In the second transfer mode, three kinds of an auxiliary storage device bypass mode, a first bypass mode and a second bypass mode are switched. In the first bypass mode, data are transferred by way of a second buffer memory 22 from a communication task 11 not by way of the HDD 10. In the second bypass mode, the data are transferred by way of the second buffer memory 22 from an HD writing task 11 not by way of the HDD 10.
