PURPOSE: To provide the subject compsn. consisting of an aromatic polyisocyanate, a specific polyester and an additive, not exerting adverse effect on the releasability of a composite article from a mold, good in storage stability and useful as a binder for producing a composite material.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compsn, consists of an aromatic polyisocyanate (A), a polyester with a mean mol.wt. of about 600-5,000 obtained by the self- condensation of ricinoleic acid itself or the condensation of ricinoleic acid using a 2-20C initiator polyol and, optionally, an additive (C). The component A is a mixture of diphenylmethane diisocyanate and polyphenylpolymethylene polyisocyanate and the component B has a mean mol.wt. of about 620-3000 and, as the initiator polyol, it is pref. to use 1,6-hexanediol.
