NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R1 is 1-5C alkyl or 1-5C allylsubstituted alkoxy; R2 is H, 1-5C alkyl, protected 1-5C hydroxyalkyl or protected carboxyl; R3 is R1, H, protected 1-5C hydroxyalkyl or 1-5C alkoxy; A is (substituted) 2-5C alkylene; Y is O or S; Z is (substituted) methylene, O or S].
EXAMPLE: (-)-(3R,4R)-3-methoxycarbonyl-1-methylthio-4-(oxazolidin-2-on-3-yl) carbonyl-1-cyclobutene.
USE: An intermediate for producing anti-viral agents and carcinostatic agents etc.
PREPARATION: The objective compound of the formula I can be obtained by condensed cyclization of a compound of formula II and a second compound of formula III.
