Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new polyimide excellent in processability, heat resistance and low dielectric properties by selecting a polyimide having specified repeating structural units.
CONSTITUTION: A polyimide is selected which has repeating structural units of formula I (wherein R is a tetravalent group selected among 2-27C aliphatic groups, alicyclic groups, monocyclic and condensed polycyclic aromatic groups, and noncondensed polycyclic aromatic groups wherein aromatic groups are linked to one another directly or through a cross-linking member; and n is 0 to 1). This polyimide is obtained by thermally or chemically imidizing a polyamic acid made by reacting preferably an aromatic diamine of formula II with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride of formula III.
