PURPOSE: To provide a new compd. which can be used for the treatment for syndrome X relating to glucose resistant, hyperinsulin disease, abnormal lipemia and hypertension, and for the treatment for hypertension syndrome of a patient having insulin resistance or metabolic abnormality.
CONSTITUTION: This compd. is an ethanol benzoate amine compd. in a racemic compd. of enantiomers expressed by formula I, wherein R is formula II (R' is H, 1 to 5C straight-chain or branched alkyl; R1, R2 are H, 1 to 5C straight- chain or branched alkyl or alkoxy; (m), (n) are 1 to 3) or formula III. The compd. is, for example, (S)-1-(m-trifluoromethylphenyl)2-{β-(4-[2-(N-(3,3- diphenylpropionyl)amino)ethyl]benzoyloxy)ethyl-amino}propane. The compd. is obtd. by converting a compd. expressed by formula V into an alkali (earth) metal salt, allowing the obtd. salt to react with a halide compd. expressed by formula V (Hal is Cl, Br, I), and then debenzylating the obtd. compd. expressed by formula VI by a catalytic reaction.
