Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new intermediate which is shown by a specific formula, can be easily produced, is inexpensive, and is useful as an intermediate for the production of a compound useful for the control of insects, acarids, and nematodes.
SOLUTION: This intermediate shown by formula I [W is cyano, CO2H, CO2R3, CONH2, or the like; R is a (halo)alkyl, cyano, C(NH2)(=NH), or the like; R1 and R2 are each H, a halogen, a (halo)alkyl, a (halo)alkoxy, or the like; R3 is a (halo)alkyl, a hydroxyalkyl, an alkoxyalkyl; (n) is 0, 1, or 2] (e.g. 2-chloro-3-cyano-4-thiocyanato-5-methylpyrrole) is obtained, preferably, by the reaction of a compound shown by formula II with an alkyl halide or a haloalkyl thiohalide and so on. It is preferable in its production to obtain the objective compound by the reaction of a compound shown by formula II with an activated bisulfur compound.
