Abstract:
To provide a new polypeptide usable as a therapeutic agent for diseases including hypertension, autoimmune diseases and cardiac insufficiency because of having physiological activity associated with e.g. anterior pituitary hormone, and useful as a reagent for screening compounds promoting or inhibiting the activity of this new peptide and therefore hopeful of serving as prophylactic/therapeutic agents for diseases including hypertension, autoimmune diseases and cardiac insufficiency, furthermore e.g. quantifiable when contained in liquid test specimens by the use of an antibody thereto because the antibody can specifically recognize this new polypeptide.
This new polypeptide has a physiological activity associated with anterior pituitary hormone. The 2nd objective DNA encoding this new polypeptide, and the other objective method for screening compounds promoting or inhibiting the activity of this new polypeptide are provided respectively.
