PURPOSE: To provide a wavelength-conversion material for agricultural use having a function to convert a light spectrum to a light effective for the cultivation of a valuable vegetable in house culture.
CONSTITUTION: The objective wavelength-conversion material for agricultural use contains a pyrazine compound of formula [R1 to R4 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, trialkylsilyl, COr1, COOr2, CONr3r4 or COCONr5r6 (r1 to r6 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or heterocyclic group) or R1 and R2 and/or R3 and R4 together form CO-Q-CO (Q is alkylene or aromatic hydrocarbon group), =C(r7)Or8 (r7 and r8 are H, alkyl or aryl) or =C(Sr9)2 (r9 is alkyl)]. The compound of formula absorbs light of 350-450nm wavelength and converts the light into a light of 380-520nm wavelength in high efficiency. A resin is incorporated with 0.01-2.0% (preferably 0.05-0.5%) of the compound and formed in the form of a film or a coating layer having a thickness of 10-300nm (preferably 30-150nm) to form a wavelength-conversion material.
