Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a UV absorber providing a cosmetic having refreshing feeling free from greasiness and excellent protecting action on ultraviolet rays when blended with toilet lotion, milky lotion or cream.

CONSTITUTION: A zirconium compound of the formula ZP(H2PO4)1-x(R1-O-R2 OPO3H)x(PO4).yH2O [in the formula, R1 is cinnamoyl group which may contain substituent group or benzoyl group; R2 is 2-12C total carbon straight-chain or branched-chain alkylene group wherein an oxygen atom may be inserted into between carboncarbon atoms; x is number in a range of 0<x<1 and (y) is number in a range of 0≤y≤2].
