Title:
NICKEL-BASE ALLOY WITH FLEXIBILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6270545
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the flexibility of brazing filler metal for brazing and to enable the automatization of brazing operation by use of the ribbon of the above material by subjecting a molten metal of Ni-base alloy containing prescribed percentage of P, Ag and Cu to rapid cooling so as to form a structure solidified by rapid cooling.

CONSTITUTION: The alloy containing two or more elements selected from 1W12.5% P, 0.001W10% Ag and 0.001W10% Cu and Ni is melted. This molten metal is sprayed, for instance, onto the revolving roll surface for rapid cooling to be formed into ribbon or foil. Thus obtained ribbon is highly flexible, so brazing operation can be automated on application of the ribbon bar wound on a drum.
