NEW MATERIAL:A nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound of formula I [R1 is formula IIWformula IV (R7WR12 are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, CF3, nitro; 1 is 0W3); R2, R3 are H, alkyl; R4 is halogen, methyl; R5, R6 are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, CF3; X is O, S, imino; Y, Z are O, S, methylene; m is 0W4; n is 0W1].

EXAMPLE: 2-[2-(4-Phenoxyphenoxy)ethoxy]pyridine.

USE: Pesticide: it has juvenile hormone-like activity and shows very high controlling effect against insects in Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Hemiptera and so on.

PREPARATION: For example, the reaction of a compound of formula V (A1 is halogen, mesyloxy, tosyloxy) with a compound of the formula: HXR1 or its alkali metal salt furnishes the compound of formula I .
