To obtain a new compound having nitrogen monoxide synthase inhibitory effect without little affecting normal blood pressure, and useful for treating and/or preventing shock, chronic arthrorheumatism, ulcerative colitis, ischemic encephalopathy, etc.
This new compound is shown by formula I (R1 is H, a 1-10C alkyl, etc.; R2 is H, a 1-10C alkyl substituted with a 2-10C alkenyl, etc.; (n) is 1-4; (m) is 1-2; formula II represents that either 3-4, 4-5 or 5-6 site is a double bond; however, when R1 is H and 3-4 site is a double bond, (n) is ≥2 and two of R2 are each not H and substituted on the 5-site), e.g. 4-methyl-3,4-dehydro-2- iminopiperidine hydrochloride. The compound of formula I is obtained by reaction of a compound of formula III with an alkylating reagent, etc., in a halohydrocarbon-based solvent followed by distilling the solvent off and then adding an alcohol-based solvent and ammonia, etc., to the system to effect reaction.
