To improve oxidizing resistance and sulfiding resistance and to restrain the manufacturing cost to low by composing the noble metallic material with alloy containing a specified composition of Ag, Au, Pd and Cu.
A noble metallic material is composed of the alloy containing by wt.% of 70-85% Ag, 5-20% Au, 5-20% Pd and 2-8% Cu. This alloy is obtd. in the following method. A carbon crucible is set in a high frequency melting furnace and the respective metals of the above composition are charged as granular state or small piece state. Successively, after reducing the pressure in the furnace, gaseous nitrogen is supplied to make the nitrogen atmosphere, and the temp. in the furnace is raised with the high frequency induction and the respective metals are fully melted so that the temp. in the crucible becomes about 1100°C. Thereafter, the molten alloy is taken out from the crucible and poured into a prescribed mold to make an ingot. The ordinary casting, such as lost wax method, die casting method, is used or direct press-formation or machining is executed to manufacture accessories.
