Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which enables the materialization of a battery system capable of showing a high energy density and superior charge/discharge cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery 1 is provided according to an embodiment, which comprises: a positive electrode 6; a negative electrode 7; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode 6 has a positive electrode layer 62 including a positive electrode active material. The positive electrode active material has a spinel type crystal structure, and includes an aluminum-containing lithium manganate represented by the following general formula: LiMnAlMO. In the positive electrode layer 62, the content of the positive electrode active material is 91 wt% or more and less than 96 wt% to a weight of the positive electrode layer 62. In the nonaqueous electrolyte battery, the proportion of a capacity C2 to a capacity C1 is 92 to 99%, where the capacity C1 is a charging capacity when the nonaqueous electrolyte battery 1 is charged from a voltage of 1.5 V to a voltage of 3 V, and the capacity C2 is a charging capacity when the nonaqueous electrolyte battery 1 is charged from 2.3 V to 2.7 V.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
