Abstract:
To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery with superior safety.
A cylindrical type secondary lithium battery contains an electrode group and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution in a battery can. In the electrode group, a positive electrode that uses lithium manganate having a maximum exothermic peak temperature with DSC not lower than 300°C as the positive active material, and a negative electrode that uses amorphous carbon as the negative electrode active material are wound through a separator. The lid of the battery has a cleavage valve 11 that may cleave at a fixed pressure. The oxygen release temperature of lithium manganate is raised to suppress the decomposition of the non-aqueous electrolyte solution.
