To provide a simple non-destructive inspection method of high reliability capable of inspecting the healthiness of an existing pile in the presence of an existing structure.
In the presence of the existing structure 1, a footing 2 is drilled downward from its upper surface and a first accelerometer 7 is installed on a pile head part 3a using the drilled hole 9. Further, a second accelerometer 8 is installed on the upper surface of the hooting 2. Subsequently, the upper surface of the footing 2 is struck by a hammer 10 and reflected waves are measured by the first and second accelerometers 7 and 8. The acceleration response wave forms measured by the first and second accelerometers 7 and 8 are respectively integrated to be converted to speed response waveforms and these speed response waveforms are converted to a frequency region using FFT or the like to extract the frequency response only of the pile 3. Then, the frequency response is converted to a time domain to calculate the time response only of the pile 3 and the healthiness of the pile 3 is judged from the time response.
