Abstract:

To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery enhancing high temperature cycle characteristics and battery capacity while high cycle performance is kept, and suppressing gassing in high temperature storage.

The nonaqueous electrolyte battery 10 uses an electrolyte to which vinylene carbonate (VC) and α-angelica lactone(4-hydroxy-3-pentenoic acid γ-lactone) are added. Thereby, a flexible film made of α-angelica lactone is formed on the surface of a negative electrode 12 to prevent drop in an initial charge efficiency. A mixed film comprising VC and the angelica lactone is formed on the flexible film, and the mixed film has higher thermal stability at high temperatures than the film made of only VC. Therefore, cycle characteristics at high temperature is enhanced, and gassing in high temperature storage is suppressed.
