PURPOSE: To obtain a normal-pressure sterilization and cooling apparatus capable of easily and quickly cooling a food without deteriorating its quality.

CONSTITUTION: An ejector 5 generating negative pressure by the ejection of cold water W is placed on the upstream side of a tank 1 for storing cold water W. The tank 1, a cooling chamber 2 and the ejector 5 are connected with each other through primary-side and secondary-side pipes P1 and P2. The cold air is circulated between the tank 1 and the cooling chamber 2 taking advantage of the negative pressure generated by the ejector 5. Ozone gas is added as a sterilization agent to the cold air flowing from the tank 1 to the cooling chamber 2.
