Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an omnidirectional normally closed compact vibration sensor which facilitates installation of electrode members constituting the major portion of assembly work, has a simple structure, robustness, capability of downsizing the whole, increases manufacturability, lowers a price, durability and abrasion resistance, and has high degree of reliability.
SOLUTION: A pair of electrode members A1, A2 forming an opening 2A having a nearly semi-ellipsoidal surface having an opening at the front end face are adhered to a molded insulator B so that a gap 4 having a predetermined width is formed between the electrode members A1 and A2. The openings of the electrode members facing each other form a cavity 2 having a nearly ellipsoidal inner surface, in which two electrically conductive spherical bodies C are accommodated in a rollable manner. In a stationary state, regardless of their attitudes, two spherical bodies make contact with the electrode members, while the spherical bodies always make contact with each other, providing electric conduction between the two electrode members. When vibration is applied, regardless of its vibration direction, electrical conduction and nonconduction are repeated, when the spherical bodies move.
