Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I [R1 is OH or NH2; R2 is acetoxy, (substituted) heterocyclic or (substituted)heterocyclic thio] or its salt or ester.
EXAMPLE: 7β-Carboxymethylthioaceamido-7α-methoxy-3-( 1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5- yl)thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid.
USE: An antibacterial agent.
PREPARATION: A compound shown by the formula II or its salt or ester [e.g., 3-( 1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl )thiomethyl-7β-amino-7α-methoxy-3-cephem-4-carbox ylic acid benzhydryl ester, etc.,] is reacted with 1,4-oxathiane-2,6-dione or its reactive derivative (preferably trimethylsilyloxycarbonylmethylthioacetyl iodide, etc.,) and optionally the ester is removed and the resultant compound is amidated.
