EXAMPLE: N,N'-Bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)diphenyl ether-4,4'-disulfonamide.
USE: A raw material for a polymer and a medicine, and obtainable in high purity and yield.
PROCESS: A compound of formula IV (Y is halogen) is reacted with a 1-hydroxybenzotriazole derivative of formula V (M is H, etc.; R6 is halogen, CN, etc.; n is 0 or an integer 1W4; R6 may be the same or different when n is ≥2), and the resultant product is then reacted with an aromatic aminohydroxy compound of formula VI to afford the compound of formula I.
