NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I {wherein R0 is formula II-IV [wherein R1-R3 are each H, a halogen, a (substituted) 1-6C alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heterocyclyl, a 1-6C alkoxy, OH, etc.]}.

EXAMPLE: 2-(1-Normon-2-yl)-5-(3-phenylisoxazol-5-yl)oxazole.

USE: An anti-mycoplasmal and antibacterial agent.

PREPARATION: A compound represented by formula V (wherein Z1-Z3 are each H or an OH-protecting group) is reacted with a compound represented by formula VI (wherein M+ is a metal cation; and R4 is an anion stabilizing group which will be optionally eliminated by a β-hydroxyl group to form an olefin), and subjected to subsequent removal, if necessary, of the optional hydroxyl-protecting group to obtain the objective compound.
