NEW MATERIAL:Indomethacin glyceride derivatives of formula I (R1 is alkanoyl; R2 is H, alkanoyl).
EXAMPLE: 1-Indomethacoyl-3-palmitoylgycerol.
USE: Anti-flammatory agent with extremely reduced side effects such as intestinal disorder.
PREPARATION: For example, the reaction of an indomethacin monoglyceride of formula II with a reactive derivative of fatty acid given as formula: R1 OH, or between an indomethacin diglyceride of formula III and a reactive derivative of fatty acid of formula R2'OH (R'2 is alkanoyl) gives an indomethacin glyceride derivative of formula I. The reactive derivative of fatty acid is, e.g., an acid anhydride, halide, ester, for example an acid chloride as the acid halide, p-nitrophenyl ester as the ester and a carboxylic hemiester anhydride as the acid anhydride.
