Title:
NOVEL MICROBIAL BIOMASS HAVING GLYCINE DEHYDROGENASE ACTIVITY, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING GLYCINE BY USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002191357
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To discover an unrevealed microbial biomass having activities of a glycine dehydrogenase widely from the natural world, and further to provide a method for producing glycine from glyoxylic acid by using the microbial biomass.
This microbial biomass belongs to the genus Bacillus, and has glycine dehydrogenase activities for converting the glyoxylic acid to the glycine. The method for producing the glycine comprises converting the glyoxylic acid to the glycine in the presence of a culturing liquid of the microbial biomass, the microbial biomass or a treated product of the microbial biomass.
