NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [X1 is H, NH2 or RCONH (R is H or 1W3C alkyl; X2 is Thr or Pro; X3 is 3W6C α-amino acid residue; X4 is Ser or Thr; X5 is Gln or Glu; X6 is H, COOH or CONH2; X7 is S-S or CH2-CH2].
EXAMPLE: The compound of formula II.
USE: An elastase inhibitor. Effective against diseases such as pulmonary emphysema or rheumatism.
PREPARATION: The peptide can be produced by oxidizing the peptide of formula III.
