PURPOSE: To provide an oil coater capable of automatically coating a shearing blade with a lubricating oil.

CONSTITUTION: This oil coater has an oil coating brush 41 which is longitudinally aligned to the direction of the shearing blade 34, is arranged in a horizontal state and is made movable in a horizontal direction and a lifting type oil pan 42 which holds the lubricating oil, is arranged liftably below the oil coating brush and automatically brings the lubricating oil held therein into contact with the oil coating brush. The oil coater has a lifting device 47 which rises the oil pan until the lubricating oil held in the oil pan comes into contact with the oil coating brush, then lowers the oil pan and a horizontal moving device 44 which advances the oil coating brush to coat the shearing brush with the lubricating oil after the contact of the lubricating oil and retreats the oil coating brush. More preferably, the oil pan 42 is arranged in the state of submerging the oil pan in the lubricating oil 5 housed in an oil box 46 and the lubricating oil is preferably held in the state that the oil is dipped out into the oil pan rising of the oil pan.
