PURPOSE: To suppress the occurrence of unevenness in a control pressure and to improve shift feeling, by a method wherein control valves are respectively situated in a plurality of oil pressure routes, and a highest control pressure is selectively fed to a transmission hydraulic circuit through a comparing circuit.

CONSTITUTION: Control valves PCSV-A and PCSV-B are situated in a plurality of oil pressure routes LA and LB, respectively, in which a specified oil pressure is fed. A plurality of the control valves PCSV-A and PCSV-B are driven and controlled in the same duty ratio and at a different timing. The highest control pressure in a plurality of the oil pressure routes LA and LB is selectively fed to a transmission hydraulic circuit through a comparing valve VC. This constitu tion eliminates increase of the drive frequencies of pressure control solenoid valves PCSV-A and PCSV-B to a value higher than necessary, suppresses the occurrence of unevenness in a control pressure, and enables easy improvement of shift feeling.
