Abstract:
To provide a one-way clutch such as a roller clutch 16 provided with an engaging element having superior wear resistance, seizure resistance, and impact resistance.
A roller 24 used as the engaging element of the roller clutch 16 is composed of steel with a Cr content (x wt.%) of 8-20%. A nitride layer with an N content of 3 to (0.26x+4.42) wt.% is provided on a surface of the roller 24. A surface hardness of the roller 24 is ≥Hv1100.
