An open showcase 1 is provided with an insulation wall 6 opened in the forward side, a top part partitioning member 8 provided below a top wall 7 of the insulation wall 6 with internals, a bottom partitioning member 11 installed above a bottom wall 9 of the wall 6 with intervals, a series of ducts 21 formed by duct members to make a rear part of the space between the member 8 and the top wall 7 communicate with a rear part of the space between the member 11 and the bottom wall 9, discharge ports 36, 37 to be formed at the forward end of the member 8 and communicating with the ducts 21, and a suction port 25 to be formed on the forward end of the member 11 and communicating with the ducts 21, the cold air which is heat-exchanged with coolers 26, 27 installed in the ducts 21 is discharged from the discharge ports 36, 37 to a chamber 13 by a blower 28, and sucked from a suction port 25 to form a suction air curtain. A shade 46 fitted to an upper edge of an opening in the wall 6 and a fluorescent lamp 47 are provided, and the position of the discharge port is higher than the lower end of the shade 46.
