Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively and softly open a woven or nonwoven fabric made of conjugated fibers comprising polyamide and polyester as a base material by treating it with a specific treating liquid so that the physical properties are not deteriorated and the yellowing is not generated.
CONSTITUTION: The woven or nonwoven fabric made of conjugated fibers (formed in a separated or sea-island type, for example) comprising polyamide and polyester as a base material is subjected to the opening treatment at 25-60°C using an acidic treating liquid having 10-75 wt.% concentration of the following materials for opening the fabric and dissolving and removing the polyamide. The treating liquid comprises preferably an organic acid represented by formula I {wherein R is CnH2n+1.OH or OH- [(n) is 1-4]; X is OH or CnH2n [(n) is 0-4]; (m) is 1-2} and/or an inorganic acid represented by formula II (wherein R1 is H; X is Cl-, SO3-, SO4-- or PO3---) and a surfactant represented by formula III [wherein R2 is CnH2n+1 [(n) is 8-18]; R3 and R4 are each CH3, CnH2n [(n) is 1-3] or H; X- is COO-, SO3-- or PO3--]. After the opening treatment, the remaining polyester fibers have 0.02-0.80 denier fineness to enhance the softness of the fabric.
