Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the temp. increase, burn, sparking, etc. of the contact parts between current conducting bars and upper electrode by spraying continuously a plating liquid to the above-mentioned contact parts during the plating operation of a horizontal type electroplating installation. CONSTITUTION:Spray nozzles connected to a piping 10 for feeding the plating liquid by a pump 9 and injecting the same from injection nozzles 1 to stir a plating bath 6 are disposed to spray continuously the plating liquid near the contact parts 8 between the current conducting bars 5 and the upper electrode 2a in the horizontal type electroplating installation which subjects the steel sheet S traveling in the plating bath 6 in a plating cell 1provided with dam rolls 4 on the inlet and outlet side to electroplating by conducting current through the bars 5 to the upper and lower electrodes 2a, 2b disposed above and below the steel sheet. The contact parts 8 are thereby cooled during plating and the plating liquid is penetrated into the contact parts 8, by which the contact resistance is decreased and the generation of the temp. rise, sparking and burn is adequately prevented.
