OPERATION OF CONVERTER

PURPOSE: To prevent the sticking of molten metal to a ladle and the erosion of a lining refractory by mutually changing the ladle for supplying molten dephosphorized iron as the main raw material into a converter for smelting reduction and the ladle for supplying a high temp. crude steel from this converter for smelting reduction into a converter for decarburize-refining.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of reducing iron oxide in iron ore and semi-reduced pellet with C, etc., in the molten iron by supplying the pre-dephosphorize-refined low temp. molten iron, the iron ore and semi-reduced pellet into the converter, to the inner wall of the ladle for supplying the molten pre-dephosphorized iron into this converter, the molten iron is stuck and solidified to lower the received iron vol. in the ladle, because the temp. of the molten pre-dephosphorized iron as the raw material is low. Then, the low phosphorus crude steel tapped from this smelting reduction converter reversely is at high temp. and as the inner part refractory in the ladle for transferring this molten low phosphorus crude steel into the converter for decarburize-refining is easily eroded because of the high temp. crude steel. Therefore, by using the ladle while changing the ladle for molten pre-dephosphorized iron and the ladle for receiving the crude steel, the reduction in the use frequency caused by the sticking of the metal and the erosion of the refractory to both of the ladle for supplying the low phosphorus iron and the ladle for receiving the crude steel, is prevented.
