The opening degree of the shutter 28 of a hulling part 1 is regulated so as to decrease and increase in relation to an increase and decrease in the amount of grain in the mixed rice hopper 24 of a mixed rice sorting part 3 and the roll gap between hulling rolls 7 and 7 is initially set when an operation/stop switch 49 is turned ON. Subsequently, operation display urging the opening regulation operation of the shutter is performed on an operation display part 64. Next, the load current value of a main motor 55 is detected by a load current sensor 56 and, when the detected load current value becomes a stable load current value of a predetermined value or below from a high load current value, operation display urging connection of a swing clutch is performed on an operation display part 64.
