PURPOSE: To give flexibility to the operation of the information processing system by schedule definition on a host which carries on the transaction by putting the transaction in operation in response to a message outputted before the interruption of the host which interrupts the system operation.

CONSTITUTION: A schedule file 1 is present on the shared volume of plural hosts 9 and 10. Schedule execution means 2 and 8 puts operations reserved in the schedule file 1 in operation. A message acquiring means 3 acquires the outputted message. A message output recording file 5 is provided on the shared volume which is readable and writable from the hosts 9 and 10. A message output recording means 4 records the information of the acquired message in the message output recording file 5. A message output state reading means 6 reads the output state of the message out of the message output recording file 5. An other-host interruption recognizing means 7 recognizes the interruption of the system operation due to a fault in the system operation of the other host 10.
