Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of quickly switching from a step zoom to a normal zoom with a simple operation.SOLUTION: The optical device includes a digital camera having: a zoom ring 116; and a drive controller 104 for controlling the drive of a zoom lens 1012 in accordance with an operation of the zoom ring. The drive controller switches, in accordance with an operation speed of the zoom ring, a driving control of the zoom lens between a first driving control for controlling the drive of the zoom lens to a predetermined position in accordance with the operation of the zoom ring and a second driving control for making the zoom lens drive, during only a period in which the zoom ring is being operated, to stop the drive of the zoom lens when the zoom ring stops its operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
