To provide an optical film fabricated from the solution of a cellulose acylate which is a mixed ester of a specified acyl and carbamoyl groups, high in Tg, low in optical anisotropy, and low in moisture permeability, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.

The cellulose acylate film contains a cellulose acylate (a) which is a mixed ester of an acyl group and a carbamoyl group, and, in the cellulose acylate (a), the acyl group is a 2-22C aliphatic acyl group and the carbamoyl group is a 2-24C alkylcarbamoyl group. The optical cellulose acylate film, since it is low in optical anisotropy, is used as a liquid crystal display polarizing plate, a polarizing plate protective film, a retardation film, a viewing angle broadening film, a plasma display front filter, an organic EL panel front film, or the like.
