Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical channel monitor capable of measuring power and frequency for each channel with measurement accuracy as high as or even higher than ever if an optical signal to be measured is arbitrary in a frequency position and a bandwidth.SOLUTION: The optical channel monitor includes: branch means for branching an optical signal to be measured; frequency discrimination means for discriminating the optical frequency of the branched optical signal with desired resolution; photoelectric conversion means for converting the optical signal into an electric signal; channel detection means for signal processing the electric signal to perform channel detection; calculation means for obtaining a power value and frequency information for each subcarrier on the basis of the channel detection result; and output means for outputting the power value and the frequency information for each subcarrier.
