Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the optical character recognition device with which the information for plural pages can be acquired as images and character/graphic information can be stored by the unit of a page.
CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a document image pattern storage means 2 for storing an information medium optically read by an image reading means 1, page division information processing means 3 for processing a value showing the area range of a document image pattern inputted from the document image pattern storage means 2 and outputting page division information to a page unit character recognizing processing means 4, and page unit character recognizing processing means 4 for inputting the document image pattern from the document image pattern storage means 2, performing preprocessing and character recognizing processing to the document image pattern and outputting the character/graphic information, to which recognizing processing is performed, to a character/graphic information storage means 5 by the unit of a page based on the page division information inputted from the page division information processing means 3.
