To provide an optical connector plug polishing device which stably fixes optical connector plugs thereto when a convex spherical surface is polished at the tip of each ferrule, to thereby polish the convex spherical surface at a predetermined angle with high accuracy in a standardized manner.

The polishing device comprises a jig plate 6, laterally movable plates 7, and ferrule retaining plates 8. The jig plate has guide protrusions 10 arranged on an upper surface thereof and V-shaped grooves 12 formed in side end face 14 thereof, and the jig plate is arranged so as to face a polishing plate for polishing the ferrules 2. Each guide protrusion 10 has an upper inclined surface 10a, and each V-shaped grooves is inclined at an angle almost equal to the inclined surface. Each horizontally movable plate 7 has the optical connector plug 1 engagingly inserted therein, which leads to penetration of a plug insertion hole 13 for inserting the ferrule 2 into the V-shaped groove 12, in a thickness direction. Thus, the horizontally movable plate is movably mounted on the guide protrusion 10 while making contact with the inclined surface of the guide protrusion 10. Each ferrule retaining plate is detachably attached to the side end face 14 of the jig plate 6, and pinches the ferrule 2 inserted into the V-shaped groove 12 in cooperation with the jig plate 6.
