PURPOSE: To miniaturize the titled antenna system to make it light weight and to perform the electronic scan of a wave in a direction of a main beam without loading a diode, by providing an optical system consisting of a phase control plate using a semiconductor substrate and a spatial light modulation element, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The spatial light modulation element 11 and the semiconductor substrate 9 as the phase control plate are provided on the front plane of a horn antenna 8, and a laser beam from a laser diode is converted to an optical image having intensity distribution proportional to a conductor pattern via the element 11. Next, the optical image is projected on the substrate 9, and a state with high plasma density is generated, and a line conductor pattern having prescribed width, interval, and pitch is generated on the substrate 9. When the wave is incident on the line conductor pattern on the substrate 9, the phase distribution 4 of a plane wave is attached on a transmission wave, and the main beam 5 can be scanned in a direction of angle θ. Also, the values of the width, the interval, and the pitch can be changed corresponding to the conductor pattern calculated by a CPU10, and spatial distribution can be attached, and it is possible to perform the electronic scan of the wave in the direction of the main beam by the antenna system miniaturized and with the light weight.
